Where to start?
Jan 07, 2019
Hello,
I have reviewed as many of the "Where do I start" posts as possible, but most are fairly dated(5 years old)...So, here is my 2019 "where do I start?" question.
I have been in education for 20 years - roles include classroom teacher, Technology Integration Specialist for a district, Director of Academics in a small private school, Instructional Designer for small private college and now Director of Digitial Learning for a school district.
I would like to position myself to land a position for employee training, Instructional Design, etc. Does the advice stand from previous posts - learn the software, create material, share and get feedback, build a portfolio and dive in?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

Hi Eric,
I definitely think that advice still stands! I would also add that a great way to build out your portfolio is by participating in the weekly challenges here on E-Learning Heroes. It'll give you ideas of what kinds of things to create and it's a great place to get constructive feedback.
Good luck getting started! :)
Thank you Allison! I need to get more comfortable with the product first, then I'll jump into the challenges.
You're welcome! Sounds good :)
