Disabling Buttons

Jul 30, 2012

I'm creating a program that involves the user revisting a slide that has multiple scenarios. I do not want the user to select scenarios more than once. How do you disable a button when a slide is revisted by the user?

Colley,

If you're using Storyline buttons, they come with a Disabled state.  (if you are making your own, you'd add this state manually).

All you need to do is add a trigger that says once the user clicks the button, the state changes to disabled.  The user can no longer click the button.

Now, you may wish to not have this happen until the user finishes a particular section.  In that case, you could use a T/F variable to track completion of a section and then have the state of the button change to disabled when that variable changes.

Attached is a simple example of triggering the disabled state.

Thanks Mike!  I appreciate your help.

Another quick question...

I created a layer that I would like user to be sent to only when the entire presenation is complete.  I'm guessing that I may have to set up a variable trigger but I'm not sure what language to use.  How do I set up a trigger that will send a user to a slide or layer only when all other parts of the presentation are complete?
