Are there any recommended text to speech extensions that can be used in Edge please?
Are there any recommended text-to-speech extensions for Edge? I tried the default one, but it doesn’t read Storyline or Rise courses on Review or when launched as SCORM in a web browser. I also tested NVDA, but found it unintuitive and robotic. Any suggestions on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.
Hello RazWoolard,
Thanks for reaching out!
When you mention using text-to-speech for your course, are you looking for a screen reader or something different?
- Here is a list of some common screen readers. I understand you've tried NVDA. Perhaps trying out JAWS will be of help!
I'll open this discussion up to the community to share if there are any Edge-specific browser extensions that they are currently using and can recommend.
I hope this helps!

Thank you for the reply - I have not tried JAWS yet, mainly as there is a cost associated with that. I am very keen on finding out what Edge specific browser extensions are being used and/or recommended. Thank you for opening the discussion up on the community.😀
Hello RazWoolard,
I'm happy to chime in! I'm also interested in what the community can recommend regarding Edge-specific browser extensions.
In the meantime, I suggest testing with the latest version of other supported browsers, such as Google Chrome and Firefox, and seeing if it makes a difference.
Let me know how it goes.
