Audio over multiple slides in Storyline
I know that in Articulate Storyline you have to break up your audio by slide. I have some music I'd like to play over multiple slides. When I break up the music by slide though there seems to be a half second delay between slides which makes the music sound choppy, Is there any fix for this? I welcome any and all ideas
Hi everyone!
I have some great news to share. We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 74, we've included important fixes and new features.
One of the new features we've included is:
- Create immersive experiences with continuous background audio that sets the tone and keeps learners engaged.
Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.
Please let me know if you have questions!
Hey Cristina,
Glad that Alyssa was able to help you out here :)
It looks like your email signature came through when you replied via email. You can remove that if needed by clicking ‘Edit’ beneath your response. Here’s a quick Peek video if you need help.

I tried Matt's solution and the audio plays over the whole story beautiful.
I have tried many things, but no matter what, my first page is black with a play button in the middle. I tried using states and layers with a picture, but the black screen is always first. Is there anyway to change this when you want the embedded video to occupy the entire stage. I am new to this, so I may be missing something simple. Attached is picture of the screen.

Hi Rich,
That's expected to account for the changes in media autoplay policies by some of the popular browsers like Chrome and Safari. You can read a bit more about it here.

I would love to hear if any enhancements have been made to accommodate background music being played over multiple slides.

A simple alternative is to put your audio on the base layer and make your "multiple slides" in which the music plays simply a sequence of layers that are navigated through, either manually or via timing...

Hi - Checking in to see if this is a feature yet? If not, is there any idea of if/when this is on a product road map?
Hi Nicole and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
This is not a feature that has been released.
We've worked to prioritize some of the most popular feature requests. This is on our list based on user feedback here in the forums and feature request submissions, but I do not have any insight into any implementation.
This conversation is attached and you should now be subscribed, so we will share any updates here.

So this request/thread is over 5 years old now. Any chance we can expect it to be resolved before another 5 years has passed? :-)
I did see the one solution posted a while back that can put music across the entire project. I would like to run some background music that continues across only 3 slides, so that solution unfortunately will not help me. The slides are quiz questions and I would like 'quiz music' to play while on those slides. The slides only progress forward based on user actions so I can't just split up the music. It appears that my only choice at this time is to place the same music file on each slide - thus starting it over each time the user moves to the next slide.
While this isn't the end of the world for my current needs, I can foresee the need to have a continuous music track (not necessarily for the entire course) on future slides.
So... what's the status on this one?
Thanks!

I agree!
Voice-over sounds so much better with background music. Plus the choice of the music can really help set the tone for the content. (I.e. 'bright' for a 101 course or onboarding. 'Ominous' to start a hazard review.) I often have 3 or 4 slides in the beginning that I would like to have music running across. The only think I can do so far - is play those like a video, capture with Camtasia, add the music, and then put it all on one slide. Not optimum.
Thanks,
Jeff

This feature has been available in your main competition for ages, I cannot believe this has not been implemented in Storyline 360 when it's been asked for for over 5 years! It's a no brainer!

Hi, I would like to add this as a feature request also. Just wondering how long requests take to implement for Articulate in general? This was requested over 5 years ago and prioritised over 2 years ago. Would this be a normal turn around time when requesting new functionality?
