Can I change a thumbnail on a video?
Right now it is showing a black screen, is there a way to add a thumbnail image from my video as the cover instead of a black screen?

Would love to have this feature as well. It's a staple in most similar software and it's honestly surprising to not see it available.
Thanks!

5 years...that's how long we've been waiting to get what seems to be a pretty standard feature in most video products. Maybe you could get your AI engine to create the video thumbnail feature for us????

This is not a solution in every situation, and it's not ideal, but i usually upload videos to Youtube and set them as Unlisted instead of importing them directly into my course.
When embedded they show the custom thumbnail from Youtube.
An added bonus is that the course files will be much smaller, and Youtube videos are quick to launch. The downsides are of course that Youtube does everything it can to get people to watch the next video, and the next and so on.

I also like this option! Hosting them externally has a lot of plus sides like the course file size as you mention. There are a lot of players out there with very nice controls built in that I wouldn't expect Articulate to have to recreate. The main draw backs are the suggested videos or getting your course to be "locked down" until the video has completed. There are solutions out there but not as easy as the built in video block.

Hi John! We started using Mighty Plugin recently and we found out that when there's a Continue Button locked (required to watch and when the video is done, it should unlock) the Continue button is not being unlocked even after completing the video above it. Can you help ASAP?
Hi Michelle!
Since you mentioned slides and layers, it sounds like you're using Storyline 360. Is that right?
If so, you have the ability to set the poster frame in Storyline 360. Simply right-click the video placeholder, and choose set poster frame.

I'm actually in Storyline 3.
Hi Michelle! Thanks for clarifying. The same is true for Storyline 3.

Hi,
I am using Rise and have a black screen on 2 of the video uploads and a thumbnail or first screen displaying on the third video. I would like it to be consistent and have thumbnails start screens on all my videos uploaded into Rise.
Have tried editing in Replay but it won't let me import the video says its not a recognised file format.
How can I set the video to show a start screen and not black please?
Thanks
Ruth
Hey there, Ruth. Replay 360 supports these video file formats. If you're using one of those types, please let us know. We'll see how we can help!

Thank you, Brendan! That is just what I needed :)

This is still a big problem. Professional videos often build from a blank screen to a graphic. It ruins the video opening to start on a frame that it’s not supposed.
Hard to believe that this function can’t be easily added. It’s in everything from InDesign to Vimeo. Very simple to create a poster creation function.
Please expedite: our courses look unprofessional only because of that one item. Thanks much,

Could NOT agree more! It's unreal how many of these threads have been out here for YEARS and nothing has been done about them. Really disappointing :(

Agree with all the above. Trimming the video is not a solution. My .mp4 file does contain my pick frame for the "preview" which I selected in Premiere, but it is not recognized by Rise 360 so I'm having the same problem. Please add the video cover feature on Rise 360. Thanks!

Same. The education in Rise does not look consistent with video images all at different spots in the video. Thanks.

Agreed!
