Cascading Unhandled Exception Errors

Using the Articulate 360 Desktop App on Windows 11. When I opened the app to update Storyline 360, I started getting cascading Unhandled Exception windows. I had to restart my system to get them to stop. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the desktop app with no success.

Does anyone know what I can do fix this?

  • Hello Everyone! ✨

I'm excited to share that this morning we have released a hotfix for the following:

    1. Articulate 360 Desktop App (Build 1.77.30587.0)
      • The Articulate 360 desktop app generated an error, preventing you from updating authoring apps.
    2. Storyline 360 Update 77 (Build 3.77.30587.0)
      • Storyline 360 could crash unexpectedly.

To take advantage of this update, make sure to update the Articulate 360 Desktop App and Storyline 360.

Here's how you can update to the latest version:

  • I have the same problem - just updated the Articulate 360 desktop app and immediately after the update started getting cascading multiple Unhandled Exception windows. OS - Windows 10 Pro with all the updates. Rebooted the computer and after opening the Articulate  app window started getting again the cascading Unhandled Exception windows!

I got the exact same issue with my work computer running Windows 11 Pro. Restarting the app does the same thing, and the Articulate 360 installer says that the latest version is installed, so I can't do a reinstall/repair of the program.

That's great news!  I am getting the exception as well.  Will I need to uninstall and reinstall the app or is there way to resolve without that?

  • Hi Janet, and welcome to the E-Learning Heroes Community! Glad you're here! 🥳

Thanks for confirming that you are experiencing this on your end. I would recommend uninstalling the Articulate 360 Desktop App and then installing the latest installer from 360.articulate.com

I'd like to share this support article as a reference that will assist you in this process:
