Format painter copying text from quiz options

Hi,
I've been working on a course that is entirely quiz based. It was decided to change some of the colours around so I tried usign the format paint button (selected answer box with correct formatting + double click format painter) to copy the formatting across all the slides.

After I had done this I discovered that not only did it copy the different formats from each state of the quiz answer options, but it also copied text and changed the text in every slide in the 'hover' and 'disabled' states. Also seems to mostly happen to the correct answer option.

Have I done something wrong or is this a weird glitch?

Thanks

  • Were these form-based or Free-form questions?  I am not sure how this could happen with Form-based, I could see it on Free-form, depending on how you designed your choices and states.  Is this a project you can share?

      Hi Ron,

No - I used the graded question option to create the quiz questions.

I did end up duplicating slides and then changing the text when I first started creating the course though... maybe I didn't notice it happening earlier on now that I think about my process. I originally tried to create a template for the quiz so I didnt have to keep reformatting every single time I created a question (course has 20+ knowledge check quiz and 22 question assessment!) - but the templates didn't work so I resorted to duplicating slides.

The text that copied across into the other states (down, hover, disabled) was consistently the same - not sure I was that diligent in duplicating the same slide each time.

I'll have to check with the content owner if I would be able to share it.

  • Hi Ximonie!

I see that you've opened a support case and you are working with my colleague Ian. You're in great hands!

We'll continue the conversation over in your support case.

Hope you're having a great start to your day! 🎉

      Hi Sharrilyn,

      Happy to help!

I took a look at Ximonie's case and saw that the support agent handling the it was unable to replicate the behavior described in this post. It looks like further testing is required to identify what's causing the behavior.

Since this is the case, would you be willing to share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case for testing? Kindly include a Peek 360 recording of the issue so we can test the file as accurately as possible. We'll delete it when we're done!
