Localization - Custom Text
I'm working in Storyline 360 with Spanish localization (under the Free trial) and don't seem to be able to edit my custom text. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
I also experienced that issue. I found that when you save the translation as it's own course (split it off from the English course) then you are able to customize the text labels. Hope that helps!

Our team is having this same issue in our Localization trial. We have
"Notes" changed to "Transcript" in the English player, but the other three languages we are using have defaulted back to "Notes" in the languages we have translated. This makes no sense and is an issue for our project! Why not let us customize that text as well or at least look at what we customized and go with it?
Please let me know if this feature will be fixed. Thanks in advance as well. :)

Hi LynDavis-09aa03!
Thank you for the feedback on how we can improve Storyline Localization!
As I shared with CarlaTommase703, this is the expected behavior for Text Labels that have been customized, then translated with Articulate Localization. They will always default to vocabulary from the target languages that were selected. Also, Text Labels cannot be customized in a localized version of a course.
I understand this may feel limiting for authors, and I've shared your insight with our product team. We'll be sure to let you know if we release a future enhancement that helps!

Thanks for confirming my experience, Steven!
My SME is recommending that we change the current translation of the Previous button (Previa) in Spanish to Anterior. Additionally, there is a disconnect between Articulate's localization/translation of the word between the transcript and the button, making it confusing. Having ability to edit this will create a more consistent experience and professional-looking project for our learners. Thanks for any help you can provide adding this to future updates.
Hi CarlaTommase703!
You're welcome. Thanks for following up and sharing the feedback!
I'll be sure to relay your insights to our development team. Do you mind clarifying what you mean by:

Seeing another screenshot of how this looks on your end, would be helpful.
Thank you!
Hi CarlaTommase703!
Glad to hear you're exploring Articulate Localization!
The behavior you described is expected when using Storyline's Localization tool. Default Text Labels for each target language are automatically assigned and cannot be edited. Currently, editing Custom Text Labels is only supported for the source language in multi-language projects.
However, our development team is always open to feedback on how we can optimize the Localization tool for authors! Do you mind sharing more details on how this functionality could improve your course translations, and workflow?
Looking forward to hearing from you!
