Major Storyline Audio Playback Issues
I have recently been receiving a lot of feedback from my course testers that there have been issues with audio not playing, audio only partly playing, incorrect audio playing or layer audio overlapping when they visit the slide initially, however when they return to the slide the audio works as designed.
Even weirder, two people may be testing the exact same package and will experience completely different audio glitches and some testers experience no glitches at all.
These tests have been done on both Review360 and in SCORM 1.2 and 2004 on our LMS. It has been tested in both Edge and Chrome. There are no issues with the timeline and the audio is not attached to any triggers. I've been using Storyline for around a decade now and have never encountered an issue like this.
From looking at the forums here it seems that a number of people are having similar issues, with no solutions provided or any update/explanations as to why this may be occurring.
This is incredibly frustrating, as it means nothing can get past quality control and be provided to clients.
Has anyone experienced this and found a fix?
Hello everyone,
Happy to share that we've just released a new update for Articulate Localization!
In our latest update (June 9, 2026), we've included a fix for:
- After publishing a multi-language project to an LMS, text-to-speech audio in the source language was out of sync.
You'll need to be working with the latest version of Storyline 360 (Update 119) to take advantage of this fix. Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You’ll find our step-by-step instructions here.
Please let me know if you need additional help.

As of 6/23/2026 after the update, my team is still having audio issues in review 360. We have a round of initial testing for our storyline training. To review content for clarity, before we upload it to the LMS. I have 4 testers for this initial testing, and its a 50/50 split. Two have no issues two are having audio delays on 95% of the slides. When I test I'm not able to get the same audio delay mentioned.
All were assigned the review through the review360 "Request Review" button. They were auto emailed the review link. However after getting the feedback saying there was a delay in audio. I tested by sending then the link directly from the share button. One reported this helped the other reported it didn't make a difference.
I have also republished the training multiple times after the update to see if its still having this issue. (it was)
Affected users are on chrome, both cleared their cache, tried alternative browsers, and are on our office wifi.
Audio is not the text to speech from articulate. Its a mp3 file from published in audition.
I saw someone mention it could be the audio file size? I haven't tested reducing that yet, but I would like to avoid compressing the audio if I can to try and maintain the sound quality.
My concern is what are the chances this audio issue continues in to the LMS/SCORM?

Just adding to the list of people who are affected by this problem. All the same issues including random slides being affected with delayed or no audio, but clearing up if the slide is restarted. The course will often test cleanly in SCORM Cloud, but not on our customer's LMS (SuccessFactors).

While I'm not an expert, many LMSes cache their data for a faster content retrieval.
Even if you have re-exported some audio or video, its name hasn't changed - from the LMS perspective, you didn't change the file, it is probably still cached. Even if Articulate did some tricks to mitigate, your LMS might not even 'read' these tricks, as for it - nothing has changed.
Try clearing the LMS cache also - maybe that's why there's still an issue.- JosieHuntCommunity Member
Unfortunately, the newest release of Storyline (June 9 2026) did not fix the problem and clearing the cache also did not help.

My audio is also not playing in preview or when published as a SCROM and accessed via the LMS. I can hear the audio by previewing it from the timeline, but it does not play otherwise. I am using the most recent update for Storyline (6/23/26) and have submitted a support ticket.

Looping back here to say that the update published 7/8/26 fixed the audio import issue from PowerPoint from me and my audio is now working. Thanks, all!

Hi Mateusz, and thank you for all your insight and suggestions. Regarding the "I got a code to paste to index_lms.html", I have no idea where to paste that code. If it involves pasting into the LMS system, I don't have access to my client's LMS.

index_lms.html is in the folder published by Storyline.
Use Gemini or any other free AI tool to help you paste this code properly. It shouldn't do any damage, but if you paste it incorrectly, the course may not work.
