Rise & Google Analytics?
Can Google Analytics be integrated into Rise?
- GailChambers-fdCommunity Member
Is anyone using Google Analytics for tracking users in Rise? Any input would be helpful.
Thanks in advance!!

What is it that you are trying to track for users? I use Google Analytics (GA) quite creatively for tracking things that users do. However, keep in mind, that GA does NOT track user names, so you would need to obtain that from your LMS.

Thanks, can you detail how that might work? Export as? Options to view user completion - etc?

Tracking via my LMS and GA, I export as LMS - SCORM 2004 - Edition - 4th Edition. I also add the GA code to the header of the story.html file, as well as the other 3 in that main folder to activate the GA portion, which tells the browser to send that data to your GA account. You can also publish for TinCan (which is really xAPI) if you have an LRS, you can track users and activity that way as well, or instead, depending on your coding expertise and comfort.

Hey all, I think I've found a solution to this! Could you click on my link so I can see if data feeds through? If it works I'll create a tutorial :) http://s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/stephtesting/index.html#/

I found this thread and I thought I'd throw in my two cents. I've instituted GA in my articulate files via GTM. I have event tracking built in and I'm able to view when someone goes to a specific course, the navigation they use within the course. Currently, I'm working on instituting a way to track when the video files are played and what's clicked on regarding the interactive parts. It's fun, but can be annoying at times when stuff doesn't come together. All I can say is keep pushing and really learn GTM (with preview mode).

Thanks for this Jared - what is GTM?

Currently having trouble when inserting code for GA. Once the code is inserted, it is causing issues/error messages with the videos in our LMS program.
Has anyone run into anything like this before?

I know this threat was about GA and Rise - but I'm interested in any analytics capability that's either built in to Rise or what progress (or ready made modules/advice) is available since this thread began 2 years ago :) Thanks in advance.
Thanks for asking, Sri. While Rise 360 doesn't have analytics built-in, what sort of data would you want to access? Are you using a learning management system to host your Rise 360 courses?

Hi,
I am looking to see if my students watched videos fully and how and where they navigated - starting with simple to as complex as it gets - at presently I'm sharing a link from Canvas to the Rise on Articulate. I don't plan to import SCORM into Canvas for now.regards,
Sri
Thanks, Sri. It's helpful to know more about how you would want to use analytics, should we add that feature in the future. I appreciate your feedback!

I think I may be in a similar situation. I created a Rise 360 item as a reference / information items and share it via the link to the cloud. There is no "completion," but I'd like to know number of hits, so I can tell if it's being used and is worth the effort of maintaining it.

Hi Richard,
Where and how are you hosting and sharing your Rise course with your audience?

Hi Karl. I'm new to Rise so may not understand all the implications, but was planning to use the "preview link."
Hello, Richard. The Share link for your Rise 360 courses won't be able to give you any information about who's viewing it.
The best bet for you would be to export your course for web and to host it on a web server where you have more control. You can then use an analytics tool on your web site to give you the data you need. Here's some information on exporting to web, including a couple of options if you don't already have a website.
