Saving and retrieving files result in error messages.

Greetings, I have built an eLearning program for our Ergonomics division. The file contains 14 demonstrations videos about 2 minutes each with background and animated graphics inserted.
I have had the WORST time getting files saved and/or reopening files that were saved the previous day.

  1. Reopening files results in a pop-up saying the file is corrupt or was created in an older version of A-360..
  2. When I am finally able to open a previously saved file and perform revisions, saving it either takes 10-15 minutes to save OR, it tells me the file cannot be save and to try saving it in a different location. saving to a different location does not help as the error message pops back up.

These issues do not occur with other files that contain video. I am as FRUSTRATED as can be by this! It forces me to make and file multiple copies which gets confusing? PLEASE HELP!

Regards, John M.

  • Hi JohnMartinez-8a!

So sorry to hear you've run into these setbacks while authoring in Storyline. I understand how frustrating that can be!

If you've already confirmed you are working with locally-stored files, it's possible certain media may be causing some form of file corruption. Not to worry! We'd be happy to troubleshoot the project, and determine the cause of this behavior. Do you mind uploading a copy of the problematic .story file here in the discussion, or privately through a support case?

Looking forward to hearing from you!
