Screen recording jumping back to start frame before moving onto next slide
Hi
Is anybody having an issue with the screen recording feature? I have added a screen recording to my project using the 'try it' feature so it presents as a system simulation, however when completing the actions e.g clicking on a hotspot, the screen recording action will play, but then flash back to the start frame before moving onto the next slide. This doesn't make it flow very well...
This hasn't happened in the past so I'm under the impression it's a software glitch?

Storyline posted an update today with release notes stating "Fixed: Slides could flicker when navigating between layers."
I updated Storyline to the latest version and opened up a screen recording project from a few days ago. Obviously, it has different screenshots on different slides, not layers. The flashing is still occurring as the transition occurs from one slide to the next.

Also experiencing this. Thanks for posting. I'm a newbie and assumed I was doing something wrong...

Articulate support have updated me on this:
We're currently tracking this issue and I've added your case to the report.
From here, I’ll meet with my team to take a closer look so we can determine the next steps.
Depending on priority and risk, some bugs can be fixed quickly, while others take longer to resolve. - DanMcCallumCommunity Member
I'm having the exact same issue. I did a screen recording for the Try It feature, and the screen recording is set to play when the user clicks a hotspot. It plays to the end, and then as it moves to the next slide it appears to reset to the first frame of that segment of the recording. I've tried adjusting the timing of the screen recording, and playing around with various changes to the triggers, but nothing seems to resolve the issue.

I made some screen recordings of the issue.
The first video shows the flashing in a project that used Storyline Screen Recording. The second video shows the flashing in a project that did not use Storyline Screen Recording.
There are 3 user clicks in the Screen Recording video and 2 user clicks in the No Screen Recording video.
Even though I blurred the videos, you should be able to see the flashing that occurs at the transition point. When the user clicks the screen, it advances to the next view, but then flashes the previous view, and then eventually proceeds forward to the next view again. In short, instead of going from A to B, it can go from A to B to A to B.

I am now seeing the same, or a similar, "Flashing Repeat" glitch on a colleague's project. She did not use screen record, but instead has video clips on multiple layers. The slide progresses with the video on one layer and when the user clicks a button, it proceeds to the next layer to show the next video clip. However, the screen flashes between the views at the transition point. For example, going between layer 2 and layer 3 after the user clicks the button, the screen will start with the end view of layer 2 (naturally), flash to the first image of layer 3, flash back to the end view of layer 2, then go back to playing the video on layer 3.

I recently did a screen recording and I am getting constant flashes of something previous before moving on. For example, I have a hotspot on a screenshot on the minimize screen button. When you click it, the screenshot of the window goes down and disappears as if it is minimized. Then the fully open window flashes on the screen again and then disappears. It appears that if you are using the screen recording feature and moving from screenshot A to screenshot B, that clicking on the appropriate hotspot will change the view from screenshot A to screenshot B, but then rapidly flash screenshot A again, even though you have already moved on. This is not limited to one slide, but is happening over and over on multiple slides and consistently every time I preview.

Yes this is exactly what is happening to me. I have raised this as a case as I opened an old file which used to work fine previously, and is now doing the flashing between screenshots.
