Send an email of Key Takeaways

Hi! I would love to be able to have my learner email themselves their key takeaways from the course. I know there is a trigger for email but I would like each learner to input their personal email.

So there is a Text Entry box and under it, a button labelled email. A box pops up for them to input their email address and the information from the text entry box gets sent in an email.

Any suggestions on how to do this?

Thanks!

  • P.S. I've seen the posts of the Javascript for a window opening in Outlook, but I'd like the learner to type in the Text Entry box in the course and just email it from there.

  • Mmmmm. What do you mean by an external service? I'd like to understand further. Thanks! :)

Hi Judith, I just came to the forums with the same question. It doesn't look like you ever got a response but thought I would ask just in case you were able to find a solution. Thanks!

  • Hi Hayley!

Thanks so much for reaching out. I'd like to direct you to this thread where other community members have shared some JS code in order to achieve this.

Here's an article that goes into detail about email triggers:

(The learner needs to have an email client installed ( like Outlook), and it must be configured within the app to utilize email triggers.)

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

  • Depending on your company's offerings, I have a potential solution that utilizes Microsoft's suite of tools, including PowerAutomate and Outlook.  There are also threads about using Google Sheets, but since that is out of our company's security permissions, we can't use anything Google, except search.t

Let me know if you would like me to explain - I don't yet have this documented!  My team is begging for that... So I'll have to walk you through it.
