Storyline 360 Publish to Word 2013 Not Working
I am trying to publish my project to word to send to our team to review. It acts like it is publishing to word and gives the message that it has been successful, however, no document is created. Is anyone else having that issue?

All, I've been experiencing this issue as well. I've found a fix and wanted to offer the wider community a potential solution. SL30 (and Sl3), would look like it is publishing but nothing would appear on the desktop. When this happens check if you have any software running the puts MS Word into "Sleep" mode. I'm running Avast internet Security, it has a Performance enhancement widget that puts inactive programs to "Sleep" to save on RAM space. I'm sure a lot of other programs out there that do this. If you open up MS Word (hence waking it up), SL360 and SL3 will publish to Word as per normal.

This is good to know! Thanks for sharing. I will make sure Word is active!

Hi Joann! Sorry this is giving you headaches. I have a few questions that'll help me narrow down why this could be happening:
- Are you working from your local hard drive? If you're working on a network drive, or any other external storage, that might be causing the trouble.
- Is the file name long, or does it contain special characters or symbols? If so, try shortening it and/or removing the special characters.
- Does this happen with all Storyline 360 files, or just this one in particular? If it's just the one in particular, try importing the slides from the original file into a new file, and let me know if that does the trick.

Hi Alyssa,
Thank you for your response. To answer your questions:
Yes, I am working from my hard drive. The file name is not long and does not contain any special characters. It is happening on all my 360 files. I was recently upgraded to Office 2013 and for some reason can no longer export to word. I'm not sure if it is a 360 issue or a Word 2013 issue. The last time I imported to word I was using Storyline 2 and Word 2007.

The issue was with the Word 2013 settings. I have resolved it now and it is working. Thank you again for talking it out with me.

Hi Joann,
I am also having issues. I would be extremely grateful if you could share the settings that you changed. All I get currently is the first slide without any notes.

Hi Teg,
I thought I had it resolved and while now at least the screens do export into word the notes do not.
Oh that's great to hear! Thanks for coming back to give me an update.
Hey Teg - You are certainly welcome to reach out to the user directly via the 'Contact Me' option on the user profile if you do not hear back from Joann soon.
Have you taken a look to be sure that you have administrator rights in Word as well?

I just started having the problem today. Yesterday (9/6/2017) there was a Storyline 360 update that I applied. Now I cannot publish to Word. I am using Word 2016.
Any help would be appreciated.

Same here; it just started not publishing to Word (2013). Regular LMS publish works fine.
I installed the latest update this morning, so I'm not sure if it's related to that.
I apologize for that, Sonya and Bill! Our team is seeing the same thing, and we’re hard at work to find a fix. I’ll post an update here once I have more information to share.
Thanks again for letting us know this bug is affecting you, and I’m sorry if it’s giving you headaches!

Hi. Any update on this issue? I'm getting the same message as Bill, and also using MS Word 2013. All other publish works fine.
Hi Ian. I'm sorry that I don't have an update yet. You're in the right place though, and it is a high priority issue for us. We'll let you know as soon as we have some more information on that!

Hi,
Same issue here. Publishing to LMS works fine but publishing to MS Word shows the "read-only" pop-up.
This is very urgent to fix because we are just about to export the texts for voice over recording in ongoing projects.
So sorry about that, Göran. You're now subscribed to this thread, so you'll get the news of the release as soon as we post it!
