Svg files for SL360 on the roadmap?
Hi, wonder if and when you are planning to let SL360 support svg images?

In addition, the PPT method is only for the simplest of images--from my testing, more complex images will often yield poor results. And sometimes PowerPoint's import will cause translation issues itself that get "inherited" when brought into SL360.
At best, what we have now is a fair but inadequate "band-aid."
Direct SVG import with perfect results from the original SVG is needed--badly. ASAP. Yesterday if possible. ;) :)

Hi Gerry,
I have a quick question for you. I was also on the bandwagon for this update, and now that they have incorporated it, my workload has doubled! I used to use the workaround with PPT and got very good at it. Now I cannot use that method any longer, and all SVGs come in as un-manipulatable (sorry for that word!) objects! I cannot change colors, break them apart, or anything that I could do before with a PPT > SL SVG. Any ideas on what I can do? Do you know any way to get these images to be changeable once in SL? Any ideas welcomed!
Thanks,
Reina

Thing to remember here is that you are bringing an svg into PowerPoint, which then converts it to a PowerPoint editable graphic, which you then can recolor, then save out as a png for SL360. So the SVG is not being imported into SL360 but you are using PowerPoint simply as an image editor and convertor. If you use illustrator on a daily basis then using PowerPoint is pointless. Using an SVG directly in SL360 would mean resizing in the slide and no loss of quality at any size or resolution. Once in SL360 you cannot edit the png files colors.

Is there any news on this? Not having this feature is unacceptable at this stage when it's been a request since the original version of storyline. Importing it in from a powerpoint slide is not an acceptable solution when we are mass producing SVG's from Illustrator.

Any updates on this yet? We're desperately needing this feature!

Nothing yet . . . :(

My hope is that if we can keep the thread alive, and keep it in their line of sight, we might actually get this basic, necessary feature in the nearer future. Since the squeaky wheel gets the grease, I am more than happy to squeak!

Another bump for SVG support. It's sorely needed. Some of my clients are really picky to keep their branding/logos as vectors.

We are moving towards a requirement that all non-photo images are SVG, so we are in need of this support ASAP otherwise we may have to make the decision to use different software to meet our needs.

The only issue I do run into has only started happening recently and it is this:
"If you see a “Failed to import PowerPoint presentation” error message in Storyline 360, it means one or more of the following issues is occurring..." and Articulate provide suggested solutions here:
But the solution for me has been as follows:
The Presentation Doesn't Start with Slide Number 1
PowerPoint presentations must start numbering slides from 1 to import successfully into Storyline. If your presentation starts with slide 0 or another number, here's how you can fix it.PowerPoint 2016 and Later: Go to the Design tab on the ribbon, click Slide Size, and choose Custom Slide Size. Enter 1 in the Number slides from field and click OK.
Anyway, I hope this helps. Whilst I understand the frustration that Storyline cannot simply import SVGs, the PowerPoint workaround has been subsumed into my workflow and I am loving the fact that all my little icons, logos, pie-charts and graph details can all be imported and look absolutely crisp onscreen.

Thank you Diarmaid. I've always had issues importing an SVG that contains more than 1 layer into PowerPoint and then into Storyline but the method you outlined definitely seems to work great!
You have also mentioned that shapes end up being invisible once they are imported into SL. I've experienced the same thing but totally forgot to bring it up in my previous post.
Thanks for sharing! You are definitely not trodding on my toes!
Hi everyone!
I'm excited to share that we just released Storyline 360 (Build 3.57.26407.0) today which includes the option to import scalable vector graphics (SVGs) to Storyline 360 so images stay sharp when learners zoom in and out.
Thank you to everyone who continued sharing how important this feature was in Storyline 360. Now all you need to do is update Storyline 360 in your Articulate 360 desktop app!
If you run into any issues, don't hesitate to reach out in this discussion or in a support case.
Hi Johan,
Thanks for reaching out! This is something we have on our list as a feature request, but it's yet to make our roadmap. We'll continue to track users who are interested in this and how it would impact course development. You can read a bit more about our process here, and we'll keep you posted with any changes on this!

@Ashley I would like to be informed too on updates in .png sequence conversion or import of svg images. Please include me on the list so I'll receive an update when it will be available.
Thanks Judith! Now that you've posted here, you're likely subscribed to this discussion. That means you'll get an email notification for any new posts.
