Transparent Background Video Support?!
Hi,
I exported a QuickTime video with Alpha + RGB setting in after effect and when I Imported it to Storyline 3 (Lastest version) instead of transparent I got a black background. ( Using HTML5 output and chrome)
I'm looking for a solution to this?
Is Storyline capable of importing transparent videos or No It Just Can't?
Thanks.

So far I found on several posts the following.
A short transparent video can be exported as png image sequence and then re-exported as a aPNG (Animated Portable Network Graphics).
There is a live example in a storyline project here:

Hi Boston,
Thanks for checking in on this! There currently hasn't been any movement on this as we prioritize other feature requests. I'm going to include your voice in the request. We’ll update this discussion when there is any news to share about this or if it makes it onto the feature roadmap..

Oh and John, here's a little gem you may get a raise from championing... you know on the Scenes left-side panel where all the thumbnails for each slide are? Well imagine after an update, you start noticing one or two thumbnails there is a tiny red eyeball icon!
This icon means there is 1 or more elements hidden on that slide.
Now if you are like me, you have posted courses with elements still accidentally hidden. Your boss wonders whether you actually did the work, and calls you out in front of God and everybody, and it makes you just wanna quit, go get a drink and punch some bouncers.
However...
By adding a small flag that immediately tells the user VISUALLY there are elements hidden on a slide, no one will submit a course to their manager that has missing images or text blocks again.
Sure you can go through each and every one of your slides to make sure stuff is all active--as we all must currently the hell do. But that's time consuming and essentially bad UX, baby.
Hope you get a raise, John!

I have been able to create all sorts of video transparencies to present in Storyline 3 courses. The first method is to embed MP4s in the timeline that were prefabricated using Adobe After Effects and then simply brought into Storyline 3 to achieve the desired lesson.
The second and only other method to my knowledge is to employ Photoshop to embed animated GIFs into Storyline 3--which DO allow nice transparencies as well.
At the end of the day, it comes down to simply being the creative genius you all are, and then apply said noggin. :) Good luck!
Hi Troy!
Thanks for the feedback and sharing a workaround you found success with!
I've included your voice in the Feature Report and will update this thread if it makes it onto the feature roadmap.
Thanks for reaching out!
