White blur when a new layer opens on the slide
Hello, I ran into a problem, at first everything was fine and the slides worked correctly, and then while I was making a new slide, this bug appeared, and the same with the previous slides, objects on the base layer are hidden in a white blur when a new layer is shown. I would be very grateful if you can help me solve it :)

Hi Maria. It appears that you are adding an additional layer on top of pre-existing slides. I believe the program is set to automatically "Dim" base layers when adding new layers to a slide. You can untick the "Dim" check-box under the Slide Layers pane which is on the lower right area of the User Interface(Below Triggers).

Thank you for your help, Mick. I tried your advice, but Dim doesn't affect anything. I didn't change it on the previous slides when the bug appeared, but they also became dim, like the slide I edited. I don't know what I could delete or click to make it affect all the slides that have additional layers on them.

I'd be glad to check your slide so we can see what is replicating this behavior. If you're comfortable you can share the attachment here. Else, you can have someone at support look into it for you and you can share the course with them privately.

I'm having the same problem. when clicking on the three circles to open a layer, the base slide is blurred. The Dim does affect this. Can someone help me please?

The blur (or fade) is due to the fact that, by default, the Modern Player applies a 29% transparent white fill over the background on feedback layers. Here is one way to remove this:
1. Select View > Feedback Master.
2. Select the parent (top) slide of the feedback master you're using (in your file, that is the third master).
3. Pull down the Background Styles option in the Feedback Master menu at the top of the screen.
4. Select Format Background.
5. Drag the Transparency slider all the way to the right (to 100%).
6. Close the Feedback Master.- MonicaMooreCommunity Member
Thanks for this, Steve! I was having this problem while using a template created by someone else, and your reply solved my issue. (I never would have found that on my own.)

Hi Lijun!
Great news! I think I found a solution to the blurring issue. The selected state for each of the 3 buttons has a glow on it. If you change the selected state to another option this should fix the problem. Here are the steps to fix this.
- Click the button on the slide.
- Click “States” at the top of the timeline.
- Click Edit States.
- Click the Selected state.
- Click the Picture Tools menu at the top of the screen.
- Click the Picture Effects button.
- Click Glow.
- Click No Glow to remove the blurring.
- Choose another option for the Selected state in the Picture Effects or Picture Border menus.
I attached an updated .story file with the glows removed.
I hope this helps you out!
