White box covers portion of slides
We're seeing an issue with Storyline 360-produced SCORM packages on mobile devices and I thought I'd ask if others are seeing this issue. You can see the issue in the attached screenshot. An opaque white box will randomly appear and cover half of the slide. The portion of the slide that continues to be visible functions normally, but the portion that is covered by the white box allows no interaction.
We're seeing the issue with all of our modules and it appears randomly. We don't see a pattern or steps to reproduce the issue. The issue is only happening on mobile devices, Android and iOS, but more frequently on Android. We don't see the issue on PC or Mac browsers. When viewing a course on a mobile device, we're usually swiping through the slides, which might provide the best clue. The workaround is to close and reopen the course.
Is anyone else seeing this issue?

Hi Jamey,
Based on the image you uploaded, it seems to be similar to an unresolved notification or pop-up on the mobile browser. Let's see if we can get to the root of the issue.
Does it only appear when running Storyline packages only and not on any other page?
Does it occur while on mobile data or while connected to Wifi?
Are you able to download the package and run it offline and see if the issue occurs?
Do you have any browser plug ins or apps that appear "always on top" such as assistive touch or screen capture apps? (You can try disabling them and see if the issue still occurs)
Is the issue occurring only on Chrome or is it persistent on other browsers as well?
Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Hi Jan,
Thank you for your questions. Let me respond for Jamey, as he no longer works with us.
Yes, it only happens with Storyline packages, on both mobile data and Wifi, even if we use the Moodle app to download the SCORM package and play it offline. I personally do not have any of the assistive touch or screen capture apps open. It seems to affect Chrome and Safari, I have not tried other mobile browsers.
Since we have never experienced that issue on a desktop, and we tested a lot - I wonder if it may have something to do with functionality unique to touchscreens (i.e. swiping) or mobile versions of browsers.
Kind Regards,
Martin
Hi Martin!
I appreciate you sharing additional details with us! We'll help get this snag figured out.
We don't have any recent bugs that are similar to what you're seeing with the display of the course when viewing the SCORM package on a mobile device.
Let's start with viewing the course using a different LMS. We use SCORM cloud for testing, which is a free industry-standard testing engine. Here are the steps we take.
If your course is working properly with SCORM cloud, then we'll look into LMS changes!

Hi Lauren,
Not sure if my reply later in this thread will trigger a reply from the team or yourself so I wanted to reply directly to your message.
Has this issue since been resolved or a work around discovered? I have the exact same issue on a series of courses I'm producing and this is currently stopping us being able to move to product delivery.

Hi
I have been experiencing the same issue with my courses.
The course works fine on PC, but on the Samsung A Tab that our users use, a white box appears on top of the content on random courses.
It would seem like it happens if you drag or zoom on the screen in some of the cases.
Also, in one of the courses where I have changed the background color (in the CSS file), every time I push a button in the course- a white box blinks (but then disappears again) at the same place the white boxes use to appear. This also does not happen on PC.
As you can see in the attachments, the white box can appear on both the left and right sides of the course.
Hope you can figure out what is causing this bug.
Best,

Hi Anette, thanks for reaching out and sharing these details!
- Have you tried testing in SCORM Cloud to see if you get the same behavior?
I'd be happy to test with you if you're comfortable sharing your file! You can share it publicly here, or if you prefer, you can share it privately here.

Good afternoon,
Me and my colleagues have been doing some mobile testing for a series of courses we've created and are actually experiencing the exact same issue.
We've tried multiple things to alleviate this problem but aside from closing the course and re-opening this, there doesn't seem to be another workaround.
Are you aware if Articulate has a fix for this issue? Or is there a work around you're aware of as this is stopping the release of a key curriculum we've been designing. Hi Ben,
Thanks so much for reaching out! I see that you've opened a support case and that you are working with our colleague Lianne. You're in great hands!
We'll continue the conversation over in your case.
Have a great weekend!
