Buttons are not triggering the audio file

Jul 30, 2021

Greeting

I have a variable called “Play_audio”.  It is set to “false” by default.

I have two triggers to adjust the variable called “Play_Audio”.   First trigger adjusts the variable called “Play_audio” = TRUE when users click on button 1.  This action sets an audio file called “ruec” to play when the timeline starts on this slide if the “Play_audio” = TRUE.

The second trigger adjusts the variable called “Play_Audio” = False.

I can see the changes in variable from False to True as user click the button. But the audio file does not play.  If I remove all triggers, or set the default = True, then the audio file plays automatically.

I can see that the buttons are not controlling the audio file. Any help?   https://360.articulate.com/review/content/5cbfc369-6276-426c-bc7f-809c1670d00e/review

Hi, Mofidul, and welcome to E-Learning Heroes! ✨

Thank you for sharing your project and .story file!

You have a trigger to play the audio when the timeline starts if Play_Audio is True. However, the timeline starts with the variable being false, and the only time it will check again is if you re-start the slide.

My suggestion would be, instead, to add triggers that Play or Pause the audio when the variable changes:

I am attaching the edited file with those changes.

Let me know if this works!

Dear Maria,

Thank you for your help and I am really sorry to bother you again. In this presentation, when I click the right arrow, the presentation advances perfectly fine.  But after you go beyond the 14th slide, and reach to slide 15, and use the left arrow, it works on the 15th slide. The 14th slide does not show the left arrow any longer, and you cannot return to the previous slide because the missing left arrow. Presentation is provided below.

You do not need to see the entire project but if you do not mind clicking to the right arrow and navigate to the page 15 and then click on the left arrow, you will see the problem.

Any help would greatly appreciated.

Hello, Mofidul.

Thank you for sharing the .story file!

It looks like on slide 1.16 (which shows 14), you are missing a trigger for going back to the previous slide. You can add the trigger in the Slide Properties (Right-click the base layer and choose Properties). Take a look below:

The title reads, Module 5; Network Concepts. It needed to read " Politically Exposed Person".   I went under "Player" and updated title to read "Politically Exposed Person".  But still not working.
