File disappeared from Storyline Desktop

Aug 11, 2022

I posted a project to Review 360 and received some suggestions on it.  I went in to Storyline 360 on my desktop app and it's gone from the project window.  I even searched "browse".

All I did was hit the save button while creating it but never did a back up file.  Where might it be?  I searched in my documents>myarticulate projects but it's blank.

Any help?  Trying not to panic as this is my first one!

Hi, Angela.

I'm sorry that you can't find your .story file in your recent projects!

You can check if you can find it in the TEMP folder. Here are the steps:

  1. Open this folder in Windows Explorer: %appdata%\Articulate\Storyline
  2. Scan the contents of this folder for a file that starts with the name of the project. If you find one, copy it to your desktop.
  3. Change the file extension of the copy on your desktop from *.tmp to *.story.
  4. Double-click the file to open it in Storyline.

I hope this helps!
