Block types, translations and XLF files

Oct 07, 2019

I am getting ready to design a new course that will be translated in 13 languages. We send xlf files to our translation company.

Are there any block types that do not translate using xlf? In particular Labeled Graphics? and new Scenario blocks? I am "assuming" because it is text I should be ok (as are most other lessons).

I have learned not to insert Storyline and expect translations.

Great question, Ellen!

Text in all block types will translate using the XLIFF file translation process. As you mentioned, Storyline slide content in a Storyline block will not translate, because it's treated like a web object.

Then, you'll need to translate your buttons and other built-in navigational elements, like Continue buttons. Click Settings in the upper right corner and go to the Labels tab. For more information on how to translate labels, click here.
