Course not resuming after quiz

Here are errors we are receiving:

"I completed the IA quiz, exited the course (not refreshed) at 67%, and upon returning to the course my progress was set back to zero."

"I took part 1 of the course today as a leaner, and it seems that the issue arises after learners complete the IA quiz. I refreshed the course at 61% completion, and the rate was still captured. However, when I completed the IA quiz and exited the course at 67% completion, the course took my completion rate back to 0."

We clicked on the settings to provide a link to resume the course upon exit so I am not sure why the quizzes are making the learners restart the course from the beginning.
