We recommend using the highest quality images possible and letting Rise optimize them for web delivery. In general, the larger the photo, the better! Take a look at Adam's video here. At about the 2:35 mark, he elaborates a bit about responsive images, the recommendation to avoid images that require an exact cropping, and our suggestion to focus on a conceptual scene. Not just cover photos! What about creating a list of photo sizes for all photo options? I like to use a photo with text overlay for Flip cards. But getting them just right takes a LOT of time!

I am going to have a go but I think we really need the issue with Rise cover photos defined in the best practises.

For cover photos, Tom Kuhlmann found that 3:1 images work really well. Check out his post here for more details.
For flip cards, square photos work best. You can follow the same idea Tom shared in the link above, just with a square PowerPoint slide.
