How do visually challenged users get information on how to navigate a Rise course?

Oct 11, 2023

I understand that we can and should populate alternative text (alt text), the descriptions associated with images and graphics. How do users who are visually challenged know how to get to them in the first place? Is there a default announcement when a course starts that informs people who are visually impaired on how to use the Rise accessibility defaults? Do we need to manually add a customized field to do so?

I am already familiar with

and

https://community.articulate.com/series/articulate-presenter-360/articles/articulate-presenter-360-user-guide-how-to-customize-the-text-labels

but did not find an explanation for my question.

Thanks

Angelo

Hello Angelo,

Happy to help on this one!

Your learners will know how to navigate web content with the screen reader of their choice. There is not a default announcement to inform them since it works like other web pages.
If you would like to set expectations for all of your learners, you can include these details in the description of your course.
