is there a difference between LMS and linking the page

Jun 11, 2020

Hi, I am building a course in RISE 360 and want to host it on an external learning website. is there anything about differences between different browsers (like Firefox or Chrome), and differences when the course is embedded in an LMS (like LEARN) vs. just linked?

If you are using a LMS and embed the course in the LMS, you can assign courses to students, track their progress, etc. If students exit a course before they have completed the course, they can return later and resume where they left off. You have student management options and reports.

By comparison, if you simply link to a course on a web site, you typically have few or none of these options. You don't know who has taken the course, or what their progress is etc. None of their progress is stored, and if they resume and incomplete course they must start from the beginning. If tracking and data is not important to you, linking may be an option.

If you use supported browsers, you should not have issues, although in these forums you will see people complaining about problems with specific browsers.
