How do I save a copy that someone else can work on where I still keep the original version intact ( can view the other persons suggestions and/or discard changes if I want to)
One option that is available to you is to Publish to Review by selecting the Review item in the menu once you open your Rise course:
When your colleagues review your course they are able to leave comments, which you will receive as feedback along with a screenshot of where they were in the course when they made the comment.
This enables you to retain the original file and make any changes you wish based on the feedback that you receive.
You can find more details on how to use Review in this link. The course in the link is created in Storyline, but you can just as easily publish a Rise course to Review. Thereafter, the process of using Review is the same.
In this scenario, you'll always have the original version as a backup, and you'll be able to see the changes the author makes in the duplicate version.

Ned's idea is a great one! Another option is to duplicate the course, then add the author as a collaborator on the duplicate course.
In this scenario, you'll always have the original version as a backup, and you'll be able to see the changes the author makes in the duplicate version.
