"More Languages" in the "LABELS" in Rise ...
Oct 26, 2018
Hi all,
Ever since I use Rise, which is about 15 months, there is ENGLISH, SPANISH, FRENCH and GERMAN available and under "More Languages" it say's "COMING SOON".
Here in Switzerland, we would need ITALIAN, as per our three-language nature - actually with our ROMANSH it's four, but only about 25K people speak that. Fun fact on the side ;-).
My Question: are ITALIAN LABELS planned to be available at all? If yes, could you give me an idea about when it would be available?
Thanks in advance for your support and have a great weekend soon
Roland

Hey Roland!
Thanks for letting us know you have a need for additional languages in Text Labels. While I don't have an ETA on those new languages just yet, you can definitely translate the labels to any language using these steps!
Well, that's great news, dear Alyssa :-)
It seems possible to me, that one Rise user has already set up Italian labels. Would it make sense and be ok, if I ask the community if someone could help me with this?
Thx for your support and have a good week
Roland
We do training in over 20 languages and I would love to get an answer to this. Not only Italian, but also Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hebrew... and the list goes on and on. I'm actually at present seeking the Chinese.
Any updates?
Hello, Lynn!
I'd like to point you to a few different resources that you'll need to translate your Rise 360 courses into multiple languages.
Alyssa - thank you for replying to both my notes :) - I'm particularly looking to find out a way that I can have additional languages created for my teamsite - so I do not have to updated all the labels every time I need a language other than the ones provided. Is there a way that we can increase the drop down options locally or at the Articulate level? I need it for many other languages and want to figure out the easiest way for my team to be able to have them available on their drop list. If, say, we get the buttons translated from our provider can you load them to Articulate for all to use? Or if I load them to my course would they show up as a drop list for my team? Thanks!
Lynn
Hi Lynn!
Rise 360 includes labels in English, Spanish, French, and German. If you need more language options, you can upload your own label sets by following this process.
There isn't a way to add more languages to the dropdown for every person on your team. Instead, each person will need to add the new label sets to their own Rise 360 account.
Let me know if you have more questions about that!
That's exactly what I needed. What I can do with my team is export the labels to XLIFF for Chinese, for example, and send it to the team members. They can save the XLF file locally and use the "Upload from XLIFF" in the label translation to add it to their instance. Is my assumption correct?
That's right, Lynn! That sounds like a good plan. Let us know if you have any more questions!
Dear Lynn,
at the moment I´m translating an course from English to Chinese and I have the same problem: There is no Chinese language for the labels in the dropdown. You mentioned, that you already translated the labels to Chinese and exported the XLIFF. Is is possible that you share this XLIFF with me? May that possible?
Thank you very much in advance!
Best regards
Sarah
Hi! I would think Articulate would just have to translate all labels one time for the major world languages and then upload them for all of us to share. It's said "coming soon" for a while. It seems silly that hundreds of us are paying to translate the labels into different languages that would all be the same.
+1 request for adding in more languages. I can only imagine the number of people who have translated these default options into languages such as Chinese in the last 3 years.
+1 on language request - Mandarin and Hindi are the 2nd and 3rd ranked globally yet neither feature on the list.
+1 on language request, It's been years of the "More Languages - Coming soon" dropdown - Is there any way to get a roadmap of what those languages are and a timeline on when they will be available?
Hi Lauren,
You can create your own label sets, so you don't have to wait for Articulate to create new ones.
Click on CREATE NEW and follow the prompts.
Hello,
I also translate into multipe languages, such as Portuguese, Dutch, Korean, Traditional Chinese and Japanese to name a few.
Please can you tell me why when there is demand from the Rise community for additional functionality it takes a long time to implement?
I have requested 3 different functionalities recently and have noticed that all of them have posts form 3 years ago and they still have not been relased.
This looks as if it would be an easy and quick fix for Rise to implement and it would benifit many customers
