Rise - Collapsible Sections in Left Menu
Hi there,
I noticed today that my Rise courses now have the ability for the user to collapse the sections of the left menu. This is a great addition! Thanks!
Two questions...
1) Is it possible to have the menu launch with all of them collapsed rather than all open? I didn't see a way to do this.
2) Any chance the same functionality will be available for the menu that is on the Overview page?
Thanks

I'm happy to see this answer and I'll second this feature request; my client has requested this, and I really want the feature too (given the length of our navigation menu it would be really great for our users to be able to see all the sections when they open the course).

We have several really long courses as well, so an option to collapse all sections as the default would be great.

Hi Team
This request has been ongoing for OVER three years in this and other threads. The threads in themselves are indicative of how important this feature request is for many users and their learners. The fact that it is NOT on your roadmap is concerning!!!
My question is WHY is this not on your roadmap?
You only need to trawl through the threads and requests to see this is not a 'nice to have feature' but a necessity for our learners to simplify their user experience.
In addition - I have just reviewed the features on your roadmap. My concern is that you are adding more bells and whistles but not attending to foundational navigation features to enhance and support the user experience to move through a course.

Hey guys - i think it is quite obvious the call for this feature and the fact that it has been an open request for over three years says a lot. Is this actually on your roadmap given the number of requests on multiple threads around this very same topic? This is a critical user experience function that should be a high priority as opposed to some of the latest releases for Rise.

Progress! I'm actually going to do some design improvements- the font size of these section headings are so small I doubt they would pass any wcag or 308. On larger screens, there is no reason to keep the menu system this narrow and fonts so small. If anyone wants to kick tires on this let me know, it needs some user testing.

This is brilliant! How foes this work Phill? Do you have a guide or video explaining how you got it work?

This is wonderful, Phil! Thank you for doing this, and I am so excited to see the download, I can assure you we'll be implementing this set up for sure on our end. I'd love to know how you were able to make it all work.

This is awesome! The lack of this functionality has prevented me from making my larger modules. Having this option will allow our team to move forward on projects we've been stalled on.

Thanks Crystal. I'd love to see those features in the future. Making a note to submit the feature request. Thanks for the response!
Hey Matt. Glad you like the new feature! Right now, the sections will show as expanded when the sidebar is initially opened, and in the course outline.
Our product team is always keen to hear about customer needs, so I can certainly pass along your suggestion. And feel free to share any other ideas you have here!

Hi
Just wondered if there'd been any progress about being able to set menu default to collapsed.
Cheers

I agree with Marcia in this.
Reading the criteria you pointed out, Alyssa, i still don't get it.
-There is no other way to do this
-It will improve the experience
-and the reactions in this post shows that a lot of users fancy this!
