Website created with Articulate Presenter

While I had some downtime as far as work is concerned over the holidays, I took the opportunity to overhaul my website which had been essentially the same for 10 years! Thanks to Stephanie Harnett (slhice), I was inspired to create and publish my site in Articulate Presenter. Thanks also to many of the members of this community who have created tutorials and shared ideas which often inspire me to try new things. Feel free to take a look and suggestions/comments are welcomed.
It's at peppertec.com

Great job, Donna! I love the look of it, and especially the ease of interactivity. The website itself is an impressive component of your resume
Hi Donna,
That is a great way of displaying your portfolio! I am in the process of creating an online portfolio/website/resume using Articulate products. My only question is hosting.
Do you have any recommendations on where to host your website?
Thanks for your comments, Peter and Eric.
As far as hosting, Eric, I'm using Host Gator. My original motivation for choosing them was that they were able to host Moodle 2 which I was trying to get up to speed with. They were very responsive to my requests for help in moving my peppertec.com domain over from another host. I have also been pleased with their support via chat when I had quick questions. Their plans are very reasonable too.
Good luck with finding a host and getting your online portfolio, etc. out there. If you are trying to do any of it with Articulate products, slhice has a series of Screenrs explaining how she did her site which is much more extensive than mine.
Donna that looks great! Loved the intro screen, and I really liked your lightbox technique for the individual sections. Your content was fun to navigate. Well done!
Hey Donna (I had to say it that way...have that tune in my head). Thank you for the shout out and I'm happy that the tutorials and website examples were helpful. It is so cool to see the work other people do and your site is amazing! You've done a great job on it - I like the look and feel and the navigation is simple and effective.
Cheers!
Stephanie
Thanks for your kind words, Jeanette and Stephanie. The lightbox technique came from one of Stephanie's Screenrs and as I've told her in a separate communication, her tutorials were great support to me throughout my entire process of creating my site. This community really is amazing!
Very cool site. I really enjoyed viewing your demo's. Keep up the good work. How long did it take you to develop?
Thanks for your comments, Cassie. As far as the development, after the design had been determined, it probably took about 20 hours. That doesn't include the examples and demos which have been created over a period of time for various projects. A large part of the development time was spent figuring out how to do what I had determined in the design phase that I wanted to do.
Love your site, Donna! You're so right about the folks in the community being so wonderfully willing to share and teach each other - I love that!
I have a question, though - what font did you use for the handwriting? I keep looking for the Perfect Handwritten Font and I really like that one!
Hey Amy - I think that Donna used this free font for the handwriting effect. It's a great font!
Very nice website, neat and simple.
Kudos to you, Donna!
Thanks, Jeanette! I'd seen that one in the Downloads section but I guess I never fully appreciated it. It's perfect for what I'm working on right now!
@Donna - LOVE IT! Great site....I am also an Alumni of the Capella! I need to get motivated to start pulling the stuff I developed together!
Thanks, Leandra and yay Capella! For what it's worth, I finished my program in 2009 and finally got around to redoing my site. One reason for that is I've had plenty of paid work to keep me busy for the last couple years. So, I think the timing of getting a degree in instructional design for online learning was good.
cool site Donna, I thought of creating a portfolio in articulate but i never imagined like this the way you created the site inspired me a lot and stimulated a new ideas to create my portfolio. Now, i am going to re-work my portfolio and upload it in the net. Thanks for the inspiration Donna.
Srini,
If you have Articulate Storyline, you can also have some fun creating a website too.
Note that SEO does not function normally though, but you can get Google Analytics at a very basic level, (see below).
Mine is at http://www.pperf.co.uk.
Bruce
Thanks Bruce, for your valuable comments i will look in to your site and also i will check the Google Analytics
Thanks for sharing. I am tasked with creating a website using Storyline and this has definitely inspired me.

It is really a good job Donna. Content, navigation all are fine. Very Impressive!!!
All the best!!!
Hi again! As an FYI - I created a small, simple site for a friend in Storyline (vi3consulting.com). NOte the full image background and transparent slide (you can see the background through the slide0. I'm about to release an upgraded version of my stephanieharnett.ca site in the next few days. I'll put out a tweet when it's up.
Stephanie
I love it Stephanie! How did you do the full image background?
Inthis case I used an image that can be repeated (like a pattern file) and inserted a trigger to run some Javascript on the first slide in Storyline as follows:
if (document.body){
document.body.style.background="#000url(bg.png)";
}
How do you deal with search engines being able to index your site so that people can find it? Any special precautions taken in that regard?
With mine, I don't. I rely on other web presences, which all then point to the website, rather than using the website as the first port of call.
Bruce
Hey Rich - So one way is to make your home or landing page html (or wordpress, etc) and include a call to action button that loads your Articulate-based site either in the same or new browser window.
The benefit is your page is more SEO friendly and you let users still choose to view your interactive site.
