Not a silly question at all. In Storyline (since you're posting here I'm assuming you're working in the Storyline version rather than the PowerPoint version) go to the Design Tab and select Story Size.
If you ONLY want to make it wider (as opposed to larger overall), uncheck Lock Aspect Ratio, then enter the width you'd like. Of course you'll then need to do a bit of image rearranging, but I'm sure that's your plan anyway. :)

When I resize it to 720 x 720 it previews just fine at the new size. When you said the template was too narrow for you I thought you meant it was too narrow for the amount of content you wanted to put in and/or the layout you want. Is that the case?
Or do you mean you want the same dimensions but simply want it to display larger? If so, go to Home > Player > Other and change Browser to whichever resize option you'd like, then for Player you can have it scale to the browser window size.
You wont' be able to preview the browser size change; you'll need to publish first.

One question: how can I do so that, when someone fails a question, doesn't need to return to stage 1? I have tried until stage 5, always choosing the correct answer, and I returned to the 1st stage after picking the "incorrect"...

Hi Isabel! You're so welcome - I'm very happy you like it!
Customizing it to go where you'd like after an incorrect response is very easy. On each incorrect layer, simply change the trigger on the "Start Over" object so that it jumps to the location of your choice. (And of course you would change the words "Start Over" on that object to something like "Continue".)
