Do you have too much information to fit on one slide? No problem, that's when this tabs interaction template will come in handy. Created in Storyline, this click-and-reveal design uses states, layers, and triggers.
The background colors are shapes on the Timeline, and they are locked. Simply go to the bottom of the Timeline panel to locate those 2 shapes (they are named "Background Header" and "Background Footer") and unlock them (by clciking the lock icon next to the object on the timeline) and then you can recolor those shapes or delete them altogether. Hope this helps!
Hello, I'm having difficulty opening/running your template. I have clicked download and then run but I then receive a message telling me Windows can't open this file. I have Windows 7, I've followed the advice offered by Windows i.e. use the Web service to find the right program - but that's proved unsuccessful. Any ideas?
Hi Tony. Sorry to hear that you're having trouble. Do you have Articulate Storyline 2 installed on your machine? It sounds to me like Windows isn't associating the .story file for this template with Storyline 2. This leads me to think you either don't have Storyline 2 installed, or you have Storyline v1 installed (which can't be used to open Storyline 2 files).
Let us know if you need more help.
Hello Trina, thank you for getting in touch. I do have Articulate Storyline 2 installed and I'm happy to report that I have resolved the problem. I was receiving an error message telling me I had a side by side configuration issue: sxstrace.exe which I resolved by Googling how to fix sxstrace.exe and found this: http://www.reviversoft.com/file-extensions/story
As I say, all fixed now and once again, thanks ever so much for getting in touch.
Cheerio,
Tony
Hi Mahdi! Sounds like you might be trying to open the download with Storyline 1, this download is for Storyline 2.
You can always try downloading the free 30-day trial for Storyline 2 if you're interested in trying out the new features: https://www.articulate.com/store/trial-download.php?aid=1
If you have Storyline 2 the file should download as an IE document. (At least on my laptop its does. Once its downloaded, I save it as a storyline template and then import the file into the presentation.
Thank you for this great template. I also created my contents with the tabs from scratch but using the same method as your template. But my contents do not work as well as yours. On your template, when click some tab then the other tab state will turn to normal automatically without any specific code like "Change state of blahblahblah to Normal when the selected tab's layer's timeline starts". In my contents the the tab's state does not turn to normal unless putting the code like above. Can I ask what the magic is in your template?
I think the magic may be the "'button set". Are you using a button set when you create your tabs, Takeyoshi?
Here are some tutorials and articles to explain button sets and help you out:
