I created all the illustrations in Adobe Fireworks. Arguably, best practice would be to use Adobe Illustrator but I find Fireworks a better 'jack of all trades' when it comes to designing e-learning and creating assets to use in Storyline.
Jack, what i enjoyed the most were the interactions that drew me right in. Something as simple and clever as passing the Oscar to the boss sitting in the chair with a wine bottle. This was not only interesting but i really *wanted* to pass that object to the character. Many drag and drop interactions are for interaction sake, but in this case and throughout the module, the user interactions were key to the thoughtfully planned course story and events. A great way to learn. Well done!

It's result of playing too many computer games I think. I wanted to tell a story in those initial screens without the experience being completely passive. So whilst there's no direct learning value from some of those interactions, I feel that they add to the experience as a whole and keep the learner engaged and invested.
In retrospect, I think I'd try to get to the point a little quicker if I were given the same brief again but pleased with the module (and the series it's part of) overall.

I create the illustrations myself using Adobe Fireworks and import them into Storyline.
As for the award interaction, I have two states for the image of the director; one neutral, one with her arm raised.
I then added a rectangle (no fill, no border) over the top to act as a 'drag zone'.
Next, add a trigger to the award which changes the state of the director when the award is dragged over the rectangle (or drag zone).
Let me know if you have any other questions (it's not easy to articulate without images).
