HI Sarah, great video! I sent links to all my hiking friends! I even saw a bear on a hike once and your scenarios are quite realistic! I'm a beginner with Storyline and it's obvious that one needs many tools to do what you did. What is your advice as to other tools/software packages I should learn in addition to Storyline? Also, if I may sneak in another question, how did you make the bear growl when a student hovers over it with their mouse? Thanks for your time and assistance!
Hi Lynne! Welcome to the wonderful world of Storyline! 😊 Thanks so much for the kind words and for sharing the link. I mostly used Articulate Storyline to create this course. It’s such a powerful tool. There are so many different ways to use it that I’m still exploring! The only other programs I used were PPT (for the 3D Models and morph transitions) and Photoshop (to remove backgrounds and edit some images). The rest was created in Storyline using a lot of animations, motion paths, and triggers. I made the bear growl by creating a trigger to play the growling audio when the user hovers over the bear. One of the resources I point to often is this helpful Storyline user guide:

I love the way it's organized to help me find the information I need. I hope that helps!
Hi, Sarah! The post about your new position in the Articulate Community brought me here. Congratulations - it is very well deserved, and based on the work I have seen of yours, they are lucky to have you.
I wasn't able to find that any previous comments had specifically asked about the rising mist effect in the opening slide of this course - which is super awesome (the effect, that is - not the fact that nobody had mentioned it, hehe)! Any hints on how you created that?
Hi, Matthew! That first initial screen with the trees and the stream is a video I found in Content Library 360. There’s a subtle mist effect in the video which inspired me to add my own mist on top of that to slowly introduce the title screen. In Photoshop, I used custom fog brushes over a transparent background and saved as a PNG. I then inserted the fog PNG into my Storyline project, duplicated it multiple times to cover different parts of the slide, resized to my liking, and added motion paths to slowly reveal the title screen with the video.
Thank you for the kind words! I feel very lucky to work with such great people and be a part of this awesome community! 😊
Awesome - thanks for the tips and the swift reply! Gonna have to head over and browse available videos in the Content Library. Have left that resource completely untapped until now.
