Articulate engage 9 interactions with Captivate 5.5???

Apr 25, 2012

Hello e-learning heroes,

This could be a stupid question, but asking anyways.

Is it possible to include interactions built in Articulate Engage 9 in Captivate 5.5?

I tried this, however, it didn't work and it was probably because Engage 9 has AS 2 while Captivate uses AS3.

Is there a way to make this work?

Also, does that mean quiz items built in Articulate Quizmaker 9 will also not work with Captivate 5.5?

Please do let me know.

Thanks,

Laila

We have put a link from a Captivate module to an Engage Interaction (Glossary).  The link/button opens a new browser window for the interaction, but at the same time takes the user to a new slide in Captivate that pauses the module and has a button that goes back to where the user was in the Captivate module when they clicked on the button to the interaction.  It was a good solution for us.

Good luck with your project.

I don't see an option to change the AS3 to AS2 in the Publish settings. I am pretty sure I am not missing anything in the  Preferences, but will check again.

Can you not change the publishing settings in Captivate to AS2? You can in CS4, you just go into preferences when you click publish.

These interactions can all be replicated in Captivate.  It would take more time than Engage of course, but all three of those can be done directly in Captivate.

Do you know where I'd find tutorials on how to replicate these? I really want to use Engage but it's too frustrating working with Articulate '09 with all the glitches I've encountered.
