I've created a simple flash video in Captivate. It has mouseover interactivity. I'm inserting it into the Media Tour interaction of Engage. The file by itself plays fine. When I import it into engage and try to preview, it shows something on the screen that says Project created with Adobe Captivate 5.5, looks like a strobe light is on the video and plays a horrid sound over and over. Any ideas?
I agree with Blake, I use to publish Captivate to MP4, and then you can import it into articulate, but only if it is a demonstrational video without buttons
I followed the screenr instructions to embed an as3 file as a web object. In preview it works great. I publish and the file doesn't play. It's just a blank slide that stays up for the default slide duration. I'm watching it in IE10 which is the default browser at work where this course will be viewed.
If I publish for CD, or view the published version in chrome, I don't have this issue.
I saw a similar query in other threads, but did not see any solutions.
Curious how you're viewing the published course. If it's working for you in the CD version, I'm thinking you might be viewing the published content locally. Are you able to upload the course to a web server or LMS for testing?
If you view a published Studio '09 presentation on your local hard drive or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail.
To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published. Please review the following article for details:
The preview (which works) is local. I uploaded the published version to SCORM.com and am viewing from there, which mimics my LMS without me having to do the "paperwork"

Captivate 5.5 is AS3 and will not work in engage interactions sorry
What is AS3? Can I run it through the Articulate Encoder and convert it to a format that will work?
AS3 = Action Script 3. Articulate uses Action Script 2. If you do not need the interactivity on the Captivate file, you can always publish to MP4.
Oh...Action Script 3
