Engage '13 interactions not publishing correctly

May 01, 2014

Hi.

I am working on some courseware and wanted to test the look of a couple of interactions prior before deciding on which was best for my needs. I created a simple 2 slide ppt with the accordion and checklist Engage interactions.

My issue is upon publishing, none of the panels or changes I made to the interactions appear. Each interactions appears like the un-edited original. When I go to powerpoint, it shows each interaction having 7 panels as it should.

Please help. I have attached the file. Thanks.

Hi there James,

Unfortunately, we cannot see the interactions you've used with just the PPTX file. If you can, please create an Articulate Package and attach it to your response.

Also, please make sure that your project files, including your Engage interactions are on your local hard drive if the updates aren't appearing when you preview the project.

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).

If they're showing up when you preview, but not updating when you publish, please make sure you're not viewing the published output files locally.

If you're viewing your published files locally, this may be the problem. If you view a published Studio '13 or '09 presentation on your local hard drive or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail.

To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published. Please review the article below for more information:

Tips for Managing Project Files

  • I suggest using SCORM Cloud for your course - it's a great place to test SCORM content.
  • Another option would be to use our Tempshare server. Just keep in mind that this server is only available for testing content - it is not officially supported by Articulate and all content will be removed automatically after 10 days.
  • You're always welcome to try out Articulate Online, as well - it's available for a free 30 day trial.

If you're uploading to a web server or LMS, please try clearing your browser cache. If that doesn't help, try viewing the project in a different web browser.

Let us know how it goes!
