Engage interactions end too quickly

Mar 16, 2016

Hello,

I've built several Engage interactions into my course and I've set all of them to advance manually, but when it gets to the last piece of the interaction, it automatically advances to the next slide before the user is finished reading the content.

I thought I had all the settings right, but perhaps I'm missing something....

Thanks!

Hi Zaynah,

Are you inserting these Engage Interactions in a Presenter Course or Storyline file? For Presenter you can see the options you can select here in regards to the playback mode.  If you've inserted into Storyline it should operate as a web object, and therefore the advancement to the next slide is on the Storyline next button not the Engage interactions.

If you're still having difficulty can you share the .intr Engage file and let us know where you're placing it so that we can do a bit of testing?

Hi Ashley,

I'm using the Engage Interactions in a Studio Presenter course. I have 7 interactions (2 labeled graphic, checklist, media tour, folders, accordion, & tabs). I have the Playback Mode for each of them set for Interactive but for each one, when it gets to the last folder, or tab, etc, it quickly advances to the next slide without enough time to read the content.

I'm not sure if I can share a file due to company polices, but do you have any other suggestions?

Thank you!

Hi Zaynah,

Did you also check the slide properties to ensure all the slides, including the Engage interaction slide place holder is set to advance by user in addition to the interaction property settings? I did a very simple Presenter course with a checklist interaction and the next button was what advance from step to step and the slides in between. You can view it here.
