Is this a bug?

Mar 11, 2011

We have created a Presenter presentation and inserted Engage interactions where the user can leave the interaction at any time so that they can go back and review their work. We could not find a way to do this when asking users to view all slides in an interaction, besides using a menu in the presentation, because when you go backwards, you get an error that says you need to complete the slide, even if you already did.

When we published the interactions, we had "click on the Next Slide button to continue" in our audio and had to edit it out because the presentation advances by itself on some Engage slides and not on other Engage slides even though they are all set the same way.

In Engage interaction we selected allow user to exit interaction at any time.

In interaction properties our playback mode was set to "user must advance in order"

For the record, every time we publish-- the "next slide" button acts differently on different interactions. Sometimes it advances and sometimes it doesn't and we are not changing a thing.

Can someone help?

Thanks,

Karen

Hi Brian,

The Presenter presentation is not set to restricted. I'm confused as to why the Next Slide button sometimes requires us to click ahead manually when we're done viewing the steps (for 2 of our Engage interactions) and advances automatically at the end of the 4 steps for the other two. The settings are not any diffferent within Engage and it seems that the different Engage slides behave differently when we publish them.

In Engage interaction we selected allow user to exit interaction at any time.

In interaction properties our playback mode was set to "user must advance in order"

Can you shed some light on this?

Thanks,

Karen
