Linking in Engage

Jun 21, 2013

I am looking for some help.  I have an engage interaction and I want to have a link in a tab to supplemental information.  I want the information to be in the course not to another url but I don't want to have it add another tab to the engage interaction.  Is there a way to do this.

Any help is appreciate...A little stumped on this.

Hi Colin,

I'm afraid I'm having trouble visualizing what you'd like to do. Can you share a little more information how you're working with this project and how you envision it, please?

You're referring to the "Tabs" interaction type, not a Presenter tab, correct? Are you wanting to link to a slide in Presenter, one of the other tabs in the interaction, or?

Thanks!

Hi Christine,

I have an engage interaction and I want to link a tab that has a statistic -to more detailed information.  The problem is in the interaction I can link it to another tab (Don't want to this because it would double the amount of tabs and only certain individuals who are interested will  look at the information.  The other option is to connect it to an html page but I would perfer not to have them leave the course.  Is it possible to connect to an internal page or hide tabs in a menu?

Hi Colin,

I'm afraid I'm not sure how you'd be able to do this. If you remove a tab, in any way, it will actually be deleted from the interaction.

So yes, you can link to a tab, but that tab has to be active in order to do so.

What type of content are you wanting to show? Maybe you could insert an image that contains the information, instead? If the learner wants to review it, they could expand/view a larger version of the image that contains the information. If they don't want to view it, they don't need to.
