Help! I am importing audio into my Engage slides and the audio is cutting out after 5 seconds. For regular PPT slides the import audio runs the full length just fine. Am using Audicity and Levelator to create the audio files. This has never happened before! I need to solve this issue FAST!
It sounds like you're importing the audio AFTER you have published the Engage interaction to your presentation. Rather, you should be importing the audio into your actual interaction. For more information, see the link below:
Hi Brian - thanks for the prompt reply! You're right, I was importing after publishing the Engage. I just tried importing the audio in the edit mode of the Engage and that has solve the problem. Thanks again!
I'm having a problem with an Engage interaction and narration as well. When I upload my audio file (Audactiy) into the Engage interaction (a glossary), it works perfectly. However, as I preview the slide, as soon as I click on one of the terms in the glossary, the narration stops.
I've tried removing the narration from the interaction and putting it directly on the slide, but then if I view all the terms before the narration ends, it stops as soon as I click the last term in the glossary.
I can't for the life of me figure this out! Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
I noticed you mentioned this happens when you preview the file. Have you tried publishing and then testing the course? Sometimes this issue can occur in previewing, but will function properly once the course is published.
Also, you might want to make sure that your audio file is a local file. Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
If you continue to experience this problem with the audio file, please submit a support case. We'll be happy to take a look and see if we can find what's causing this problem.
Thank you for your help! My audio file was located on the network, so maybe that's the big issue. I'll move it my local drive and see if that solves it. If that doesn't do it, I'll publish the course to see if that takes care of it.
Thank you very much! I'll let you know how I make out!
My audio file is now local and I tried publishing the course; the audio still pauses 90% of the way through the slide. I tried a few different options...importing the audio directly into the slide and importing it into the Engage interaction. Neither works. Any other suggestions, please?
Oh no, I had hoped everything had worked out for you earlier. I'm sorry to hear this is still happening. Could you submit a support case with us? If you can, please attach your Engage Interaction file (the .intr file) to the case so we can check it out.
I'm curious to see what's going on here, as well. If you do open a case, can you please share the case number with me? You can do so by either responding to this message, or by sending it to me in a private message.
