Animations don't work

Hi there,
I am fairly new to Presenter (I usually work in Storyline) and I am trying to make a simple PowerPoint that will run on its own accord with music (which is why I am using Presenter - I want to be able to pause the presentation and start it again at the same point).
I have all my animations in the Powerpoint presentation, and they preview fine. But when I preview with Presenter, they are not the right animations. What am I missing?
Any help would be appreciated - I was not expecting so much trouble going from PowerPoint to Presenter!

Are you using supported animations? You did not mention what version of Studio that you have, but here is the documentation:
Studio '09
Studio '13
I have Studio 09, which supports the animation I'm trying to use.
I am using Powerpoint 2007 though - does that matter?
Do you need to publish to HTML5? If not I would uncheck the include HTML5 box when trying to publish.
So many animations effects work great with Flash but do not work with HTML5.
I have not gotten to Publishing yet.
Will the animations only work properly after I publish, or should they display fine with Preview?

Are you working on your local hard drive? Working on a network or shared drive can cause erratic behavior. Just want to check on that while we are troubleshooting.
Have you tested publishing yet?
I've decided not to use Presenter, but I will test publishing because I would like to know the solution to this.
