Articulate 13 Remote SME recording over SKYPE
Feb 15, 2017
We are building an enablement curriculum where we want to have multiple SMEs record each module. We have done this previously but we were all in the same location recording directly into Articulate. I would like to record everyone's narrative via Skype but haven't been able to capture the recording. Do you have any suggestions? I saw a few discussions around Storyline and also downloading a free audio software (we have very tight IT security, not allowed to download free-ware); however, I didn't fine anything about Articulate 13 and Skype. Any suggestions and help is greatly appreciated!

Hi there Amy!
It is possible to record audio over Skype, but I personally don't have experience with this. Hopefully the community can chime in and share the specific tools they've used to accomplish this!
Hi Articulate! This question is still an issue for me. I have a SME in Australia that wants to create a 3 module course; however, how can I record over Skype onto my PPT and then edit his audio? The only way I can think of is to have him record a Skype meeting, send me his PPT and recording (mp4), rename the mp4 to mp3, and import the recording into each slide, editing out what I don't need on each slide. I have tested and this works but is quite tedious. Please let me know if there is a better way to do this!
Hi Amy,
We haven't changed anything about how you'd accomplish this inside Studio - you could also look at having your SME record their narration in another audio tool that would generate the MP3 files needed? Or have her download and start a trial of Studio '13 so that she could do it natively in Studio '13.
Has anybody figured this out since these posts?
Hi Samantha,
I haven't seen any updates or new strategies to accomplish this. Perhaps you could walk them through starting a trial of Articulate and have them record it on their own setup?
