assistance with linking ppt slides

Jul 15, 2015

I am very much a beginner in this space and I have a “simple” training project that I need to articulate - I hope this is the right place to ask this question.

I have the ppt done already and I have Presenter 13 software.  My ppt has the main pages and then many appendix pages that are referenced in the main ppt and I need to figure out how to link the data.  For example, if page 12 is the training slide and page 12 reference “see appendix C, page 28 for more details”, how can I have the user remain on page 12 and simply click something on that page to have the Appendix C slide pop up and yet still be able to exit out of the appendix page and return to page 12.  Is there a training guide on this community that could help me with this or perhaps someone can just describe the steps to me.

 Thank You

Hi, Anthony, and welcome to the community!

I think I have a simple suggestion that may work for you. Please check out the sample file I put together here on Tempshare, and let me know if this is what you have in mind, as far as being able to click on a button to jump to another slide, and then click on another button to return to where you were.

Please see the attached .PPTX file for setup, and this information may also be of assistance.

Hi, Anthony -- Always happy to help!

To start, choose the slide from which you will be hyperlinking. You will need to click on INSERT at the top of the screen and choose "Text Box". Click on the slide where you would like to place it, and draw the text box to the desired size. Use FORMAT to adjust Fill Color and Font Color.

Next, click on the Text Box you have just created to make the box appear on the outer edges, and then RIGHT CLICK to open the Menu. From here, you will need to select HYPERLINK.

After the HYPERLINK box opens, click on PLACE IN THIS DOCUMENT, and choose the page you would like to link to from the list under "Select a page in this document". Press Ok.

That should be all that you need to do and repeat as necessary. Please let me know if you have any other questions! :)
