Audio Editor freezing upon save

Sep 03, 2013

I have a single slide with three animations for which "Sync Animations" does not work (the animations are out of sync). I don't know why; I tried re-doing the sync and re-importing the audio clip, all to no avail. So I thought I might move the cue points manually using the Audio Editor. I moved those three cue points, then clicked Save and Close. But then nothing happens. I don't get an error message, but I don't get a progress bar either (which I would expect if saving were to take a while). I can only conclude that the Audio Editor is freezing.

I've read other posts regarding this issue. My audio clips are on the C drive and I'm using the English language version. The only unusual aspect of my set up is that I'm running Articulate on a Mac via VMWare Fusion (Windows 7 64bit).

Any ideas on how to get this Audio Editor to work without freezing?

Hi Mark,

If Presenter becomes unresponsive while working with audio, there are some troubleshooting steps you can try here.

I'm not aware of any other issues associated with working on a Mac, as I work on a PC,  but if you'd like our Support team to look into it further please follow these directions to package your Presenter files and share it here.

Ashley,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately none of the troubleshooting steps resolved the problem(s). It appears that there are two separate problems: (1) the original sync problem that affected only one slide in a 19 slide deck, and (2) the Audio Editor freezing problem. I tested the Audio Editor on a small test PPT and it also froze.

At this point the sync is only a minor problem, and I had to send the files to the client, so I am not packaging the file for the Support team. I suspect that even if I were to share it with the Support team, they wouldn't be able to replicate the issue on a regular PC. (I suspect the Audio Editor problem is related to the virtual PC environment.)

For now this is an unresolved mystery. If any Mac/VMWare Fusion users have any ideas, I'd like to hear from them.
