If you will be using the Timeline Audio Editor to use the background music, then there will be a pause between slides. What you can do is use the Audio playlist if you don't want a pause in between. For starters, please see this post.
You can then tweak the timing of your slide to match the total duration of your background music.
I should note that the Audio Playlist will play independently of the slides, so if a user were to pause a slide with background music, the music would continue to play.
