Audio not starting immediately/ playing inconsistently.

Apr 18, 2013

Hi heroes, I am hoping someone will know what to do with this course that I am experiencing issues with.

When I publish my course, it looks perfect, however when I go to playback, it doesn't want to play the audio in a consistent manner.

For example, when I click on slide 2, there should be audio. It doesn't play immediately, it will sometimes play a few seconds after the slide starts playing, and other times it will only play if I scrub the timeline a bit or click pause and unpause.

I can post source files or published files if needed.

Does anyone know why this may be happening?

Hey Madison!

Yeah, if you want to send us your project files, we'd be happy to take a look at what might be going on. First, create an Articulate Presenter Package of your presentation as described here. Then upload the resulting zip file from your computer on the second page of this form, and we''ll attempt to diagnose what's happening when we receive your upload.

Thanks!

I am having the same issue. Is there a known bug or a solution?

I have downloaded the trial version of Articulate Presenter and published a scorm course. When I view it in IE, I hear the imported audio on each slide. When I view the course in Chrome, I hear the audio on some slides. I have a reply button because I have a custom player so when I click on the reply button, I hear the audio. All the audio has been imported properly and I can hear when I preview.

Welcome to the community, Cristina!

I'm afraid I'm not too clear on what's happening, can you clarify a few points, please? It sounds like this is only happening for you after you've published, correct?

If this is happening after you've published, how are you viewing the presentation? Are you viewing it locally, or after you've uploaded the presentation to an LMS or web server?

If you view a published Presenter '09 presentation on your local hard drive or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail.
To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published. Please review the following article for details:
If you've uploaded the presentation and still run into this issue in Chrome, can you share a link to the course? I'd be happy to take a look and see if I experience the same thing on my end.
Thanks and welcome again!

Christine,

Thank you for the welcome. I come to this forum a ton of times but never leave any messages. I usually find an answer to my problems.

This is the situation..... I published my course in scorm 1.2 . When I view the player.html in a web browser or through ScormCloud, I do not hear the audio that was embedded. If I click the reply button or move the scrubber, I can hear the audio. I can make this link available for a short time.

Good morning Cristina,

Thank you very much for the link. Is this happening for you on specific slides? I took a look (until the "Topic 1 - Purpose of Drawings" section) and audio seems to be starting on its own and playing for the slides.

I'm viewing the presentation in Google Chrome 26 at the moment, but unable to tell which slides are causing problems.

If you'd like, you're welcome to send us the project files. We'd be happy to test them on our end and see where the problem is occurring. Please be sure to specify which slides aren't playing the audio automatically, or if it's randomly cut out on slides.

Please create an Articulate Presenter package by following the steps in the following article:

Attach the .ZIP file to the second page of the following form:
