Audio won't play

Feb 24, 2014

There is audio embeded into a course in Presenter, but it is not playing. When I go into Audio editor, the audio shows, but it moves really slow and there is no sound. When I preview a slide, the audio will not play. It was working last week.

I too have experienced something like this. In my case it turned out to be operator error.
I have found that if I start modifying the presentation too quickly after a SAVE, I destroy the ppta file.
I figure that this happens because Articulate is a plug-in to PowerPoint, so PP does its save and after that Articulate does its save.
I now have the habit of waiting an extra 3 to 5 seconds after the SAVE "hour glass" disappears. That has eliminated the problem entirely. This seems to be less of a problem in '13 than it was in '09.

The comparison I'm about to suggest only works if you have saved an earlier version of the project.

Using your operating system, you take a look at the project files. Is the current ppta file much smaller than the ppta file in the previous version? If it is, you will need to partially rebuild the project.

In my experience it is not too arduous, because the remains of the ppta file contain all the links and animation commands. It has merely lost the media.

Just re-import all the audio files (even if they are still listed in the IMPORT AUDIO list) and, in my experience, everything comes to life and works again just like before.

I have little to no experience with video files, so I can't tell you how to fix them.
