automatic navigation from SCO to SCO in Moodle

Mar 22, 2011

Hi there

I have created an articulate course, complete with presener slides and quiz slides. I published every slide individually to a seperate folder, but I did not zip them. I then used simple scorm packager to compile each  SCO file into one course so I can track all the quizzes in the course. I then zipped the file and uploaded it into Moodle. The good news is that it works, but the bad news is that it does not automatically move to the next SCO. How can I set up the course so that it runs automatically through the entire course, without the learner having to click continue after each slide?

thanks everybody!

Hi De,

Since Articulate does not support the packaging of multiple SCO's into a single package, there's not a whole lot of direction that I can provide to you.  However, you might try the link below and see if that provides you with any hints:

@Corrie: Welcome to Moodle! Luckily it is quite user friendly, so it shouldnt be too hard to set up.

The articulate side:

Create your presentation and once you are satisfied, you have to publish it. Click on the publish icon in the articulate ribbon.

This screen below will pop up and then you have to make sure of the following:

1. That you publish your presentation to LMS (Learner Management System, like Moodle)

2. That you publish your presentation to SCORM 1.2 (Moodle prefers SCORM 1.2)

Ok, now you publish the presentation to your specified location. Once this is done, articulate will ask you what you want to do with the presentation. Click on the zip button so it can be zipped up. This zipped file will be uploaded into Moodle.

Moodle -To set up a SCORM course:  First, you have to crearte a SCORM lesson in Moodle. You set this when you create a new course. There is a drop-down that says weekly format, topic format, SCORM format and social format. Alternatively you can create a course with say a topics format and with editing turned on, you can click the "add an activity" drop-down. You'll see that one of your options is SCORM.

Anyway, once you have that set up, you will be taken to the settings page and from there you can work your way through the process.

I hope this helps. Just shout if there is anything thats unclear. Let me know how it works out!
