Bringing audio from Captivate project into Articulate Presenter

Mar 23, 2011

I'm currently working on moving some Captivate projects across to Articulate (which by the way is meeting our needs much better). Some of the projects have audio that was recorded slide by slide, and others were recorded as full motion video slideshows to capture animations etc. The audio from the former has been easy to move across, but I can't figure out how to take the audio from the slideshow recordings and cut it up into individual audio files for each individual slide from the original slideshow.

If anyone can share ideas on how to achieve this I'd appreciate it. Otherwise we're going to have to re-record one slide at a time...

Thanks,

Ron.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the reply. What I'm seeing is that I need to import audio slide by slide into Articulate, but the audio captured by Captivate spans multiple slides (this is the way it was originally recorded). If there's a way to slice up the audio that would work for me - whether it's via the .swf file or by any other means.

Hi Brian,

Sorry, I'm not explaining it very well. Let me go into more detail and hopefully what I'm looking for will be clear.

In this case, Captivate was originally used to take a PowerPoint slideshow and capture it and associated recorded audio for online viewing. What I now have is generated HTML and .swf for a multi-slide recording. I'd now like to move this across to Articulate, and I want to reuse as much of the original audio as possible.

What tends to happen with this training material is that it needs to be updated from one release of our software to the next, but many of the slides do not change. I'd therefore like to have separate audio files associated with each slide. This means going forward that I'll only need to re-record audio for the slides that change.

Hopefully that clarifies what I'm looking for. Thanks again for your help.

Ron.
