Can I require a user to do something on a web object?
Jun 06, 2012
I'm working on a violence prevention education course for first year college students, and we really need them to be required to interact with almost everything within my articulate presentation. I also need to be able to create pre- and post-test evaluations to monitor the success of the program.
I need those evaluations to be required. I would like to use Qualtrics (a survey program my university uses) as a web object. However, I do not know if it's possible to require that the learner complete something on a web object--in this case, my pre-test or post-test--before they can advance to the next slide.
If not, can Articulate have more than one quiz in order to have a pre- and post-test? Does anyone have other suggestions to make this possible?

Hi Hope!
I'm not sure you'll be able to force a user to complete an activity on a web object before advancing to the next slide, but if you're interested in tracking multiple quizzes within a presentation, you may be able to do that using one of these workarounds.
Peter,
Thanks. Don't those have the same problem, though, because they also involve web objects (which I can't require learners to complete)?
Yeah, you're right. It's gonna be tricky to force that kind of thing. How about supplying a password at the end of the web object quiz that "unlocks" the rest of the course? You could have the user enter the password into a one-question fill-in-the-blank quiz in order to proceed. Maybe something similar to course sequencing?
